Psychotherapy and Visualisation

In this paper I want to describe the method of visualisation in the practice of psychotherapy as employed to customers in a counseling setting. There are two motives for visualisation, the primary being a method of comfort within a treatment session, directed creativity and capability to project ideas and feelings on the scene. The next, for house use, where vision through example or art can help relaxation and projection of the customer (individual) in a restricted setting. The first component I will demonstrate that the verbal imagery in treatment and at the second the capability to use the method of self-growth and cognitive comprehension 3d visualisering.

Visualisation was talked about and utilized in a random way for several decades, largely in art therapy as a kind of self-expression. This kind of usage is very helpful with kids to non-verbalise feelings and ideas, too with adults that find it hard to communicate emotions and want the support of artwork or graphics to allow them. In psychotherapy and mostly with adults my (1. 2017 SFM) type of visualisation is equally expressive and showing to the therapist and individual in the shape of projection. Projection means shifting your feelings on a thing – in this case a verbalised visual image or a painting. In psychotherapy projection is frequently considered a transference of feelings, emotion or identification with the therapist or thing of curiosity. This has largely been utilized with Thematic Appreciation Tests (2. 1930 Murray) or Rorschach Ink Blots (3. 1921 Rorschach) Both necessitating investigation by a skilled practitioner in psychotherapy from historic data furnished by the individual. Psychiatric usage has largely been a failure regarding the medicalised nature of the interpretation resulting in false results and individual confusion.

At the initial program of visualisation the customer is attending a standard therapy session, generally the therapist has decided the biographical background of the individual and is starting to understand his life position concerning themselves and others. There’s also by this time a specific comprehension of cultural heritage and social stance. To set the scene that the therapist asks the customer to relax, close their eyes and listen carefully to the description of a location, scene and narrative. The individual is advised that at some stage they’ll be requested to take more than the narrative themselves and verbalise what they feel and see. What follows is that the script frequently utilized to start the procedure. Assessing the visualisation is in the brain of the customer as verbalised from the therapist.

Script Example: strategy one;

Therapist: I will talk you through a brief travel, try to envision within your head the scene I explain.
